Terms of Service
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Cork is an index-card writing tool operated by an individual developer (“we”, “us” — realistically, “I”). By creating an account or using Cork you agree to these terms. They're written in plain language on purpose; the short version is: be reasonable, your work is yours, and paid plans renew yearly until you cancel.
Your account
You need an account to use Cork. Keep your sign-in method secure — you're responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use Cork.
Your content
Everything you write or upload to Cork belongs to you. We claim no ownership and no license beyond what's technically necessary to store your content and show it back to you (and to people you share a board with). You can export your boards as markdown or delete them at any time. Don't use Cork to store or share content that is illegal or that infringes someone else's rights.
Sharing
Boards are private by default. If you create a share link, anyone with that link can view (not edit) that board until you turn the link off. Treat share links like what they are: secret URLs.
Paid plans & billing
Paid plans are billed annually. Purchases are processed by Polar, our merchant of record — meaning Polar is technically the seller and handles payment processing and applicable taxes. Plan changes and cancellations take effect at the end of your paid year; see the refund policy for details. Plan limits (boards, image storage) are described on the pricing page.
Service & availability
Cork is a small, independently run service provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it fast and available but can't promise 100% uptime or that bugs will never eat a keystroke — please keep exports of anything irreplaceable. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Fair use & termination
Don't abuse the service (spam, scraping other users' shared boards, attempting to breach security, reselling access). We may suspend accounts that do. You can delete your account at any time; we may terminate with notice if we ever wind the service down, in which case you'll have a reasonable window to export your work.
Changes
If these terms change materially we'll note it here and, for significant changes, email account holders. Questions? Write to joshcatone@gmail.com.
